
Handmade Twisted Doughnuts (Chinese Style Cooking Recipe) Welcome to Xiao's Kitchen. My name is Xiao Wei, ever since my Mother taught me how to cook at an early age, I have always had a strong passion for Cooking. My family still live in Inner Mongolia in the northern part of China, where I visit each year and pick-up new Asian/Chinese recipes. Ingredients: 50g Unsalted Butter 2 Tbsp sugar 1 Egg 180g Milk 350g Plain Flour ½Tsp Salt 7g Yeast For Dusting: 2 – 3 Tbsp Caster Sugar 1 Tbsp Cinnamon Powder Method: 1. Place butter in a saucepan, and melt the butter on medium heat over the cooker 2. Remove from heat 3. Add the milk, sugar and salt into the saucepan. Stir and until sugar is dissolved 4. Add the egg and stir, mix well. Test with your fingertip to ensure it's loot warm 5. Add the yeast and mix well. Leave to set for 5 minutes 6. Add the flour and mix into a dough with a wooden spoon 7. Cover the saucepan and leave to ferment till the dough is doubled in size 8. Knead the dough until smooth and soft 9. Cover and leave to ferment till doubled in size once more 10.Meanwhile, mix the caster sugar and cinnamon powder together for dusting 11.Knead the dough again until smooth and soft 12.Lightly dust work surface with flour and place the dough on it 13.Roll the dough into a thick sausage shape, divide into 16 equal size balls 14.Roll one of the balls into a sausage shape – very slightly damp the surface to make it easier to work at this stage 15.place left palm at the one end of the sausage-shaped dough, right palm at the other end 16.Roll left palm downwards but right hand upwards to create a twist 17.Lift and joint both ends together in one hand, allow to twist with the help from the other hand 18.Place onto the surface, press both ends together 19.Repeat with the rest 20.Heat 1 litre of oil in the wok till smoking hot 21.Turn heat between low and medium 22.Place the twisted dough into oil and deep fry till golden, crispy and floating in the wok – Adjust the heat to avoid burning, and do this in batches if needed 23.Remove from oil, dust evenly with cinnamon powder and caster sugar mix, and enjoy Thanks for watching, if you would like my latest recipes, you can subscribe, its free, and you'll be kept up-to-date with all my Asian recipes: http://www.youtube.com/c/XiaosKitchen...
