Knowing the fact that the Skylanders are going to have their very own TV show in 2016, this is my reaction to that news. This song was made over a month ago. Originally, I was going to make an animation about it but I wasted too much time on other stuff like the Thanksgiving animations and knowing that music videos will take too long to be made (not to mention one of my music videos took 11 months to be finished), I decided to make a still picture instead with lyrics on the screen. Why are Bowser and Donkey Kong in the picture and not in a very cheering mood? Well, they did have their own game adaptions to film and tv shows and they are just here for lyric gags. Anyways, here are my upsides to the Skylanders Academy TV series: -Skylanders get more focus than they did in the games (especially Spyro) -Being brodcasted to countries where video games are poorly advertized (even Malaysia where the Skylanders are outnumbered by Disney Infinity) will help them get more recognized. -So many possibilities of creativity and story. -Chances of TV introduced Skylanders to one day have a game figure are no stranger. -Chances of having a lot of villains as the focus on various episodes instead on just Kaos are high. -More inspiration for those who seek out creativity And here are my downsides: -Game adaptions as TV shows are almost never successful (some only last for one season or two like Sonic SatAM and Mortal Kombat Defenders of the Realms) -The voice actor choices (Why are Josh Keaton and Audrey Wasilewski replaced with Justin Long and Ashley Tisdale?) -No hopes for Classic Spyro to ever comeback to his regular ways. -If it is successful, Activision Studios might give it the Spongebob Squarepants/Teen Titans Go treatment. -Remember in G1 transformers (which is one of my favorites) were they tend to keep introducing new characters out of nowhere. Well, they did the same with the core Skylanders in every new game, I'm sure they'll do the same in the TV shows. -So many characters in a TV show can cause confusion. More of this will be updated if I can find some more upsides and downsides. In the meantime, what are your opinions on this? Let me know in the comments.
